OUR STORY

A LEGACY OF TASTE SINCE 1972.

Combined Wines & Foods was founded in 1972 by Ninel Molinari. The business began in a small warehouse in Leichhardt in Sydney’s Inner West, and from there Ninel started importing wine from Italy, selling mainly to the few Italian restaurants then operating in Sydney. By the late 1970s, the famous Donelli Lambrusco had become the No. 1 selling wine in Australia, before expanding into Italian spirits and liqueurs.

We have taken unknown brands from around the world and helped them become market leaders in food and beverage, especially during the burgeoning appreciation for all things Italian from the 1970s until today. The 80’s brought Italian beer to Australia and by the 90s, Italian foods and dry goods had become an important part of our business.

For more than 50 years, the Molinari family has grown to include multi-generational relationships with our agency partners and many long-term customers across all sectors of the food, wine and hospitality industries.

The result of Ninel’s incredible strength and vision (and an eye for the deal) is that this family-run business has become one of the largest and most successful alcohol and food distribution companies in Australia.

OUR REACH AND INFRASTRUCTURE

In all, Combined Wines employs almost 50 staff across management, sales, administration, transport and warehousing.

We own and operate a 12,000 square metre warehouse and office facility located in Riverwood, NSW. We run our own fleet covering Greater Metropolitan Sydney, the Australian Capital Territory and regional New South Wales.

We can provide distribution throughout the eastern seaboard. In Queensland, we are in partnership with Global Food & Wines Pty. Ltd., a long-established business with distribution hubs in Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and Cairns.

In Victoria, we work closely with Alepat Taylor to share common brands and provide southern distribution. In Western Australia, Pisconeri Wholesalers carry many of our brands.

Our customer base is spread across all channels of liquor and food distribution, including hotels, registered clubs, independent and national retail, restaurants, duty free, large and small on-premise groups, major wholesale, catering firms and function centres.
