Such success is undoubtedly due to the managerial skills of the ” Farnese Group “, but also to the great experience of the two winemakers Filippo Baccalaro and Teo D’Apolito who have carried out research tests for 10 years and have now identified the best vineyards in Salento and refined those special winemaking techniques that are able to express the wonderful fruits of a hundred year old vines.
VINEYARDS AND WINERY
Most of the Primitivo vineyards are located in the towns of Manduria, Sava and Carosino, an area that is viewed by wine experts as the most suitable for the optimal performance of this famous grape variety, because of its particular climatic conditions.
In this particularly suited area, the company produces about 5 million bottles with a growth trend of over 60% per year and with all wines made from local grapes (Primitivo, Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera).
The best possible way to secure high quality grapes is to conclude long-term agreements with local vine growers, believing that only the passion and know-how of those who have worked in the vineyard since the beginning can lead to the best result.
We are convinced that the obsessive attention to every detail makes the difference, the company scrupulously follows the delicate phases of the harvest: all the grapes are picked by hand in the early, cool morning, before sunrise, to ensure the maximum aromatic complexity; the bunches are immediately taken to the cellar, delivered to the hands of expert winemakers and submitted to the early stages of winemaking.
Among the future plans of “Vigneti del Salento” the wish to make the lesser-known varieties of Salento famous, continuing to promote not only the corporate brand but the whole land of Apulia throughout the world.
