Santa Margherita

santa_margherita_wineSanta Margherita was the dynamo that generated the energy, the gift for innovation and the knack of anticipating some of the changes in taste that have marked out Italian wine over the past sixty years. Prosecco sparkling wine as made here as long ago as 1953, when in the space of a few decades a territory wine was transformed into a global phenomenon.

In 1961, there followed Pinot Grigio, as the world now knows it. Vinification as a monovarietal off the skins enhances the freshness of the fruit, bringing out the wine’s enormous versatility at table. Shrewdly, the expertise acquired over the years by Santa Margherita’s oenologists has been focused on four territories: The Adige river valley, Valdobbiadene DOCG, Eastern Veneto and Chianti Classico DOCG.

Today, these areas are the main strays of Santa Margherita list, a range that stands out for appeal on the palate, food flexibility and suitability for different moments of consumption.
